For whoever needs to read this, I have NEVER been the chosen comedian. I’ve never been on any ranked comedy lists, never had the big agency that pushed me, I use to ask for opportunities only to be ignored for who the chosen person was.
Until, I woke up one day and decided I was the best. I decided to create my own opportunities, from stand up, to acting, to social media. And I’ve succeeded at them all. The only difference is I made the decision to choose myself. There’s no magic gate keeper. No excuses, if you want it, go get it and watch how everyone has a ‘i knew them when’ story to tell people about you after you succeed. Don’t give up and don’t give in. Be you and choose YOU! #TeamCTalldaaay!

If it's in your power to, HELP people. Don't complain about what people aren't doing for you, do it for other people and be the change you wanna see. If for no other reason, do it because someone helped you. Don't brag about it, don't publicize it, just help people, in whichever way YOU feel is right. HELP PEOPLE. No more complaining.

âNow listen up... Next week is Thanksgiving.. Few important things to mention: If you're invited to someones gathering, BRING SOMETHING. Ask what they need, they're gonna say nothing, that means bring a drink, a dish, OR ICE. Ice is always nice. Next up, don't just show up with a friend that you didn't okay with the host, because YOU BARELY got invited, so don't overstep. IF you do bring someone not okay'd by the host, make sure THEY BRING SOMETHING AS WELL, not just holding your contribution. Next up, make sure your guest is sociable and did not bring YOU. Because there's nothing worse than your ride leaving early and now YOU gotta leave early. KEEP UP WITH YOUR CUP, ain't nobody bouta be giving you 8 different cups all night cause yo irresponsible ass keep losing cups. I don't wanna have to write your name on it but FAM, keep it with it. If you show up without something, you're automatically helping clean up at the end, so don't try to eat and leave, that's how you don't get invited back. LASTLY, If you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF, this holiday is about loved ones and friends, not about what they taught us the holiday was about. Also, nobody cares.
ADVICE... Comedians... There are always gonna be several of us that don't like each other. Just how life works. BUT, I'm getting tired of hearing you bad mouth each other in the comedy clubs. The old rule use to be "Don't publicly talk bad about another comedian." It seems that rule has been erased, but guys, we tells JOKES for a living. One of the best jobs in the world. We as comedians have enough demons as it is. Depressed, unhappy, the list goes on and on. There's no need for us to publicly shit on anyone. I'm not telling you to not like someone, I'm not telling you to be their friends, I'm just saying STOP TRASHING THEM IN PUBLIC. It makes YOU come off bitter, jealous, and envious. Let's be adults and either A) tell the person how we feel privately and leave it alone. OR B) Ignore that persons existence and continue on about your lives. Hope this helps.
To my mama.. You were the first woman to ever love me, the person that taught me the truth about the world, taught me to always believe in myself no matter who else did or didn’t. Thank you for always taking me to the park so I could rip and run around. Thank you for everything you didn’t allow in your house so I could appreciate not doing it in my own. You taught me to stay humble and to keep God first. While being the same person that told me ‘Everybody ain’t gone like you, but that’s okay because every dog has his day and a good dog has two.’
You are truly one of a kind. You worked two jobs to support us, never failed to give me the most amazing birthdays and Christmases! Because of you, I never saw the lights get cut off, never saw an empty refrigerator and always had more than enough of everything I ever wanted and needed. You kept it together even when it seemed impossible. You showed me that if you work hard, you can have whatever you want. You showed me that you can’t depend on anyone but yourself. To walk by faith and not by sight. You are the definition of MOTHER. For every time I’ve made you mad, sad, happy and glad, I thank you for never stopping loving me. I have your face, and every time I miss you, I look in the mirror and smile (after I take away the beard and mustache of course lol) I love you so much mama, thank you for being my biggest fan and the best mama I could ever have. God bless you mama, and happy Mother’s Day. To everyone that still has their mom, or doesn’t, think of the great times you had. Pick that phone up if you can, and if you can’t, talk to them from your heart... they’ll hear it. You can’t tell by this picture but two years ago, the brother next to me was told after an accident, that he would never walk again. The man that happens to be an Olympic athlete, and one of the kindest, and hardworking people that you’ll ever meet. During the past two years, he’s rehabbed and worked hard to overcome what he was told would never happen. In that two years, I’ve never seen this man have a frown on his face, be upset. Lash out, ask for help, or have a pitty party. The level of admiration and respect I have for him is endless. He’s a daily reminder that your God can deliver you to and from anything. The problems we think we have are nothing on the larger scale of what other people go through. He hasn’t missed ONE day of writing or shooting of ‘Family Time’. I love this Brotha and know that with his work ethic, he’ll be running in no time. |
